Chris Darling is a speaker, community leader and digital marketing professional whose work has evolved considerably over the years.
ChrisDarling.org represents an earlier chapter of my personal and professional journey. During this period, much of my public work centered around community involvement, speaking and writing about personal experiences and subjects that were important to me.
Speaking & Community Work
In 2015, I spoke at TEDxWilmingtonSalon, where I presented “Let’s Talk About Mental Illness.” The talk reflected my interest in encouraging honest conversations about difficult subjects and reducing the stigma that often prevents those conversations from happening.
The writing and speaking preserved on this website are part of that period of my life and remain part of my story today.
Building a Career on the Web
At the same time, I was building a professional career in digital marketing.
I founded Darling SEO and spent more than 15 years working across search engine optimization, WordPress, web development, digital marketing and online visibility.
As search technology evolved, so did my work. Traditional SEO expanded into areas including structured data, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), entity optimization and AI search visibility.
That evolution eventually led me to recognize a problem that affects many experienced professionals: their careers change, but the information representing them online often doesn’t change with them.
Where I Am Today
Today, I work as a Digital Authority Consultant, helping established professionals improve how their identity, expertise and authority are represented across search engines, AI platforms and the web.
